Jordan Vauvert Ça fait du bien de voir Holon changer un peu de point de vue. Entre Disruptive Technology qui poussait notre avancée technologique jusqu'au bout et Breaking The Simulation qui se terminait carrément par un suicide — pas que je m'en plaigne : ces deux albums sont brillamment nuancés —, Trust The Machine apporte de l'air. En mettant la synthwave de côté, Holon fait une sorte de retour aux sources à une electronica qui reste cyberpunk mais aussi plus optimiste. Holon a su comment ouvrir 2020 ! Favorite track: Against All Odds.

FLESH MECHANIC Holon kicks off 2020 with a fresh album and it's just as interesting and worth your while as the rest of his discography. The way he captures the sound of cyberpunk-flavored industrial with a hint of the 90s is just amazing, and the atmosphere stays intact throughout the entire thing. And it wouldn't be Holon if there wasn't an epic album closing song. With Cyberpunk 2077 around the corner, people should really look into this project more. Favorite track: The Long Journey Ahead.

Un de ces projets que j'ai pris le temps de découvrir grâce à Poesy Rider (qui connaît tous les bons trucs, ça ça ne change pas). Survival Mechanism, premier album de l'entité sylac, fait un mélange de synthwave et de musique industrielle. Ne cherchez pas chez lui les envolées de pure agression comme avec PERTURBATOR ou Carpenter Brut : ici, tout est agencé de manière glaçante ("All According To Plan" dont le titre est cruellement juste), probablement parce que les machines ont déjà gagné... Mark Rydyger est très productif quand il s'agit de créer des albums pour Holon ; pour sylac, il suit plutôt la philosophie du "tout ou rien", Entropic Decay étant sa deuxième sortie de 2021. Dans tous les cas, la qualité est une constante : Entropic Decay est moins agressif et abrasif que Legacy System Collapse mais le sens du rythme est bien plus mis en avant. La machine se connecte à nos synapses et nous contrôle pour nous faire danser et j'aime ça — ou elle me fait croire que j'aime ça... Jordan Vauvert
