Jordan Vauvert Il n'est pas rare que Holon sorte plusieurs albums, parfois jusqu'à trois, au cours d'une seule année mais le fait qu'ils ne soient séparés que d'un mois l'est beaucoup plus. a view form above offre un bon contrepoids par rapport à built better|feature complete et donne de l'oxygène avec des rythmes provenant du downtempo ("a view from above", "a window into the future"). Les ambiances répétitives sont mises en avant et mettent en transe. Quand Mark Rydyger crée, il est garanti de viser juste ! Favorite track: a window into the future.

Poesy Rider Avant j'aimais beaucoup Holon ; et là, j'aime encore plus ! Cet album est véritablement une collection de berceuses cybernétiques qui pourrait laisser présager une issue favorable à l'avènement des machines, nous plongeant dans un sommeil artificiel et roboratif, apaisant tant il est rassurant. Attention, décollage ! Favorite track: worlds interlinked.

Mark Rydyger est très productif quand il s'agit de créer des albums pour Holon ; pour sylac, il suit plutôt la philosophie du "tout ou rien", Entropic Decay étant sa deuxième sortie de 2021. Dans tous les cas, la qualité est une constante : Entropic Decay est moins agressif et abrasif que Legacy System Collapse mais le sens du rythme est bien plus mis en avant. La machine se connecte à nos synapses et nous contrôle pour nous faire danser et j'aime ça — ou elle me fait croire que j'aime ça... Jordan Vauvert

Un de ces projets que j'ai pris le temps de découvrir grâce à Poesy Rider (qui connaît tous les bons trucs, ça ça ne change pas). Survival Mechanism, premier album de l'entité sylac, fait un mélange de synthwave et de musique industrielle. Ne cherchez pas chez lui les envolées de pure agression comme avec PERTURBATOR ou Carpenter Brut : ici, tout est agencé de manière glaçante ("All According To Plan" dont le titre est cruellement juste), probablement parce que les machines ont déjà gagné...
